So what do they promise to do?
Seche Vite, according to the website says: "dry fast top coat is widely acknowledged as the world's finest top coat. Specially formulated to penetrate through nail lacquer to the base coat forming a single solid coating over the nail plate for a much more durable finish. Guaranteed not to yellow while leaving nails silky, stronger and resistant to chipping and peeling."
Sally Hansen Mega Shine claims that is will keep manicres beautiful up to 10 days, dries in 60 seconds and has a micro-diamond formula which features light-refractive diamond particles that add mirror shine and strength. Sounds perrrrrtay good..
So what do I think?
Seche Vite gives a beautiful shine and a gel like finish to your manicure. When I first bought the bottle, the consistancy was perfect and I couldn't have been happier. As you get halfway through the bottle it turns yellow and becomes extremely goopy making it messy and hard to get out of the bottle. This goopy consistancy also makes it quite hard to apply to the nails and makes your manicure look messy.
Sally Hansen Mega Shine does dry very fast and gives the same shine as Seche Vite. Its not as thick so it's not as hard to take off if you're a frequent nail polish changer like myself. The only thing I don't like is the brush because if you don't have a lot of polish on the brush, it leaves your mani streaky and that's not what you want after all that hard work!
So in the end I could take or leave either one. Each has their pros and cons so I think I'm still on the hunt for my perfect top coat.
